What Change?

Barack Obama has been elected the 44th President of the United States in the midsts of a financial crisis, two empirical wars, massive debt, and an unprecedented loss of civil liberties. The question is now, will Obama correct the problems, or expand them? Clearly Obama's lofty rhetoric of "change" carried him through the campaign and promised to lead America in a new direction; however, the reality is there are valid doubts looming over the sincerity of Obama's mantra. The President-Elect openly embraces many of the same policies of the neo-conservatives; such as the 'Global War on Terror', the preemptive strike doctrine, illegal domestic spying on citizens, and globalist institutions such as the World Trade Organization and NAFTA.

The bottom line of Obama is we simply do not know what he's going to do, the man had barely started his Senate career before he launched his Presidential campaign. He has often been praised for giving a speech against the invasion of Iraq in late 2002, and indeed he was correct to do such. However, since that time he has stealthily adopted the platform of the Establishment on each major issue. Since becoming the Democratic nominee for President he has surrounded himself with a who's who's of the liberal Elite.

Perhaps Obama's most disturbing votes in the Senate came on matters concerning unconstitutional federal power and loss of civil liberties; ironic for a man who studied constitutional law. The facts are clear however, as Obama voted for the Patriot Act II, the Real ID Act, The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007, and FISA (which he has previously promised to veto). Each one of these measures is an outright assault on the Bill of Rights. These Acts allow the US government to collect and monitor all communications of domestic citizens. They also make citizens who protest the government "enemy combatants" that are subject to imprisonment without trail, except by unconstitutional military tribunals.

The Real ID Act requires citizens to carry a national ID card which is embedded with a computer tracking RFID chip. Luckily many states have been refusing the implementation of the Real ID despite the federal legislation and have caused Homeland Security to briefly push back the plan. Unfortunately, as of now Kansas is not one of the states that is formally fighting the

national identification card.

On Barack Obama's own website he calls for radically expanding the illegal domestic surveillance program and promises to recruit thousands of new 'intelligence gatherers' (spies) to be used at the state and local levels. Furthermore, Obama has called for a new intelligence program in which our agencies would share information with foreign security forces, a serious potential security breach. There is also the matter of his 'Civilian National Security Force', which Obama says must be as large and well funded as the US military. Originally Obama's website had called for 'mandatory' civilian service, however after receiving negative press the website was scrubbed and reworded. Obama's new Chief of Staff is Rahm Emanuel, who is also an Israeli citizen and former member of the Israeli military, co-authored a book in 2006 entitled "The Plan: Big Ideas for America". In this book he detailed the establishment of a massive civilian service force that would 'protect the Homeland'. Emanuel wrote that "It's time for a real Patriot Act that brings out the patriot in all of us. We propose universal civilian service for every young American". Emanuel said the security force would receive basic training, as well as training in nuclear and biological disasters; he said, "we must protect our homeland and civil liberties by creating a new domestic counter-terrorism force like Britain's MI5". Emanuel, who is a former investment banker for Goldman Sachs, was also instrumental in the assault weapons ban and called for the banning of handguns in the Illinois state senate. He was also key to pushing the Globalist NAFTA agenda through under President Clinton.

President-Elect Obama will step into the White House with an unbelievable deficit crisis due to decades of over spending and immense borrowing on the part of the federal government. However, Obama has proposed hundreds of billions of new spending that he says will not be abandoned due to the financial crisis. Obama has also made several vague promises to cut federal spending that "are not working". Unfortunately he has yet to specify a single government program that he is even considering trimming or cutting. Also he has promised to cut income taxes of 95% of working Americans, even though 95% do not pay income taxes and some of those would fall in his category for a tax hike. It should be noted that both FDR and Clinton promised to cut taxes for the middle class while running for office in a tough economy, and they both ended up raising taxes on the middle class.

Obama's economic numbers simply do not add up to anything but an increase of deficit spending, which this nation cannot afford. He wants to give every American the "same health insurance as members of Congress" without ever acknowledging the $75 Trillion deficit in unfunded liabilities for Medicare and Social Security. The US Treasury is already technically insolvent with bad debt and any attempt to further leverage the credit of the US could prove economically fatal. The US government must drastically reduce it's spending and borrowing immediately or there will be a complete collapse of the US Treasury before the end of Obama's first term.

Then there is also the troubling matter issue of Obama's foreign policy, which can barely be properly described as "anti-war". Obama has been famous for being a critic of the Iraq War, however he has continued to fund the occupation since arriving in office. He claims that he will start to redeploy troops and have combat forces out of Iraq in sixteen months, which is far too long but must be held as a maximum. The key word though in Obama's Iraq policy is "redeployment", thus meaning instead of bringing the troops home from Iraq he simply wants to move them to Afghanistan and Pakistan. Obama has openly embraced the idea of striking inside of Pakistan without approval of their government, a practice already occurring. He has also vowed to use military force in order to shut down Iran's nuclear program, as well as promising $30 Billion in military aid to Israel as his first act as President-Elect. Since August Obama has made several statements threatening Russia, promising to "end Russian aggression" over the war in South Ossetia. Obama has repeated the obvious lie that Russia started the war with Georgia, when all the facts prove Georgia actually initiated the violence with prior knowledge of the US.

Recently Obama offered the job of Secretary of State of to Hillary Clinton, and the list of who might be his cabinet is stacked full of Globalist Elite from the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, and Bilderberg Group. Obama's senior foreign policy advisor is the infamous Zbigniew Brzezinski, who was Carter's national security advisor and who co-founded the Trilateral Commission with David Rockefeller. Brzezinski is often said to be the right hand man of the Globalist tycoon David Rockefeller, Obama has also been a major recipient of money from the Rockefeller Foundation. Brzezinski has claimed that he created the Islamic radical network of bin Laden which became Al-Qaeda after being trained by the CIA. He also wrote a book called 'The Grand Chessboard' in 1997 which called for the US military domination of the Middle East to exploit it's resources as a hedge against Russian power in the area. Brzezinski said that American people would only go along with such an imperial plan in light of a new national crisis, a new Pearl Harbor type event. These ideas were echoed by the neo-conservative think tank the Project For the New American Century which made up the Bush Administration. Obama will keep thousands of troops stationed in Iraq without end, he will also do nothing to bring home the thousands of troops occupying 130 countries around the world. This empirical US occupations overseas costs us over $1 Trillion annually to maintain.

Obama is not the vessel of change that this country so desperately needs, nevertheless he is what we are stuck with, just another puppet of the corporate Elite like his predecessors. Therefore it will be up to the American people to hold Obama's feet to the fire. We must ensure the he does not expand the war on terror, domestic spying, globalist agendas, bailouts, and deficit spending; all of which he plans on doing. The "Left" especially needs to wake up from it's delusions of grandeur in regard to Obama's cult of personality and realize that he is just another puppet of the ruling Elite.
